With more than a century of haunted history and ghostly legends about bank robbers, ladies of the night, lost and forbidden loves, eccentric hotel guests and unfortunate train accidents, Flagstaff has earned a reputation as one of northern Arizona’s most haunted cities.
To share this rich, colorful and eerie past with guests, the Flagstaff Convention and Visitors Bureau will offer walking tours of “Haunted Flagstaff” every Friday in October at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The tour is free and open to the public. They will begin at the Flagstaff Visitor Center in the historic train station located at One E. Route 66.
Take a stroll through Flagstaff’s paranormal past. Visit the Orpheum Theater where the balcony specter and bathroom poltergeist roam, the Weatherford Hotel where a mysterious floating woman haunts the Zane Grey Ballroom and the Hotel Monte Vista where a phantom bellboy waits to offer guests room service.
Ghostly tales, unexplained phenomena and hair- raising accounts of Flagstaff’s past fill the new “Haunted Flagstaff” walking tour. For more information, call 928-774-9541 or visit www.flagstaffarizona.org.
