Columnist Jim Hightower visits Flagstaff Monday, August 31st, 2009

Flagstaff, AZ: Flag Live is having a meet and greet with columnist Jim Hightower on Wed, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. at Uptown Billiards (Corner of Birch & Leroux, Old Town Shops).

He’s passing through town on a road trip and will be available to talk, shake hands and just generally hang out with anyone interested in coming down. It’s not a speech exactly, although he might say a few words, but a chance for him to connect with readers, non-readers and really anyone in Flagstaff. He’s been in our pages for more than a decade and I know there are some hardcore devotees to his work in Flag.

Kids Scrapbooking Class Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Kids ages 7-12 are invited to come and craft with me on Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm. Cost is just $12 and includes pizza (yum!). The kids will be making their own version of a “Things That Bring Me Joy Book”. So if they have six 4×6 photos that they love from the summer…have them bring them along! Your kids will learn how to make a “scrapbook” completely from cardstock. They’ll use punches & stamps…lots of great techniques! Call the store at 526-9292 to reserve your kids spot…space is limited, so hurry!
